New Year’s eve we went out to eat. We ordered chicken with broccoli as one dish, and then ordered steamed vegetables as a side dish. Usually if you order two main dishes, there is too much food. This way, we were able to share the main dish and supplement it with steamed vegetables and brown rice. We shared the main dish and the steamed vegetables. We didn’t finish all the brown rice. The price was also more reasonable since we ordered a side dish instead of two main dishes. By ordering steamed vegetables, we also had a higher fiber dinner than if we had a meat and a chicken dish.
My new year’s resolution is to continue this healthy habit when eating out with others. It helps with portion control, and decreased calorie intake.
